Invasive Arten: Die Rote Feuerameise
Die Feuerameise stammt ursprünglich aus Südamerika und breitet sich - unterstützt durch den Klimawandel - mittlerweile über mehrere Kontinente aus. Ihr Lebensraum hat sich aufgrund der steigenden Temperaturen und der Globalisierung auf Mexiko, die USA, China, Taiwan, Australien und seit kurzem auch auf Sizilien ausgedehnt. Durch die Ankunft in Europa stellt die Ameisenart eine ernste Bedrohung für die hiesige Landwirtschaft und die Artenvielfalt dar.
