Le pillage archéologique et le trafic illicite des biens culturels

Le pillage d’œuvres artistiques en temps de guerre et le partage du butin est depuis longtemps le sujet de nombreuses représentations artistiques. Plus discret, celui de tombes est également bien documenté. L’époque contemporaine voit apparaître le vol de tableaux, parfois célèbres, puis le développement d’un pillage archéologique massif. La lutte contre ce pillage et le trafic illicite des biens culturels s’organise depuis plusieurs années, et se renforce, afin de protéger le patrimoine.
