Ženská gramotnosť v stredoveku

Ženská gramotnosť bola v stredoveku prekvapivo vysoká. Mníšky boli autormi a pisármi. K čítaniu a učeniu nabádali aj mnohé iné ženy, najmä vznešené ženy. Jedným z príkladov bola Christine de Pizan, poetka na dvore francúzskeho kráľa Karola VI.
